How to Join Us

For applicants wishing to join the translation team of Mashtots Publishing House, the following provides an overview of the stages of the translation process, the principles of remuneration, as well as opportunities for professional meetings and development.

  1. Trial Translation
To join the translation team, the applicant is asked to translate 2–4 pages from a work of fiction. This serves as the trial translation. After review and discussion, the applicant will be contacted regarding further collaboration.
  2. Workflow and Process
Once the trial work is approved by the editor, the translator receives assignments based on their availability, qualifications, and level of interest. The scope and difficulty of the texts may vary accordingly. Each translation is reviewed by a verifier, and feedback is provided. Afterwards, editorial and stylistic revisions are made in close collaboration with the translator.
  3. Professional Meetings and Training
One of our key objectives is to create opportunities for translators to grow as established professionals. For this reason, Mashtots Publishing House organizes regular three-day workshops and meetings, where young translators can:
    • Meet and learn from leading specialists in the field,
    • Build new connections and strengthen existing ones,
    • Ask questions directly to editors and verifiers,
    • Participate in discussions and lectures on translation,
